As winemakers, we enjoy spending time in the Valais region \u2013 visiting restaurants and hotels that are not only close to our hearts but also important partners. This time, Amedee Mathier\u2019<\/a><\/strong>s journey led to the Val d\u2019Anniviers, up to St-Luc, to the Hotel Bella Tola & SPA<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 a valley to which we have a particularly strong traditional connection. <\/p>\n\n

The historic grand hotel, built in 1859, is part of the Swiss Historic Hotels<\/a><\/strong> and was named Historic Hotel of the Year in 2001. What Claude Buchs<\/a><\/strong> created here together with his late wife Anne-Fran\u00e7oise \u2013 with passionate dedication and a love for creative detail \u2013 is far more than a hotel; it is a life\u2019s work. A place of warmth, tranquility, and reflection. An alpine jewel with Victorian salons, the famous pink stucco ceiling in the breakfast room, originally restored rooms, and the Mountain Spa \u201cL\u2019Eau des Cimes\u201d with views of four-thousand-meter peaks such as the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, and the Matterhorn. <\/p>\n\n

Claude Buchs, a knowledgeable and passionate wine connoisseur, continues this shared project of the heart. During a wine tasting \u2013 including our Cornalin and the Am\u00e9d\u00e9e from the collection of the same name \u2013 it became clear what defines the Bella Tola: warm hospitality, a thoughtfully curated Valais wine list, and at the restaurant Chez Ida, a creative cuisine that combines seasonal Valais products with French finesse. <\/p>\n\n
